Tasting Notes:
An elegant style of Hawke's Bay Pinot Gris displaying flavours of pear drops, mango and citrus with an underlying sweetness of stonefruit, Lychee and hints of lime. THe pallate has a rich mouthfeel with a sumptous youthfull appeal, with the natural acidity giving balance to the ripe fruit intensity. .
Wine-
maker's Notes:
Estate Grown Vineyard in the Dartmoor Valley, 100 % Pinot Gris from selected vines. 2011 was a fantastic vintage, giving fantastic ripening conditions through a long cool autumn. Low cropping levels ensured optimum ripeness and flavour. The grapes were harvested and taken to the winery. The fruit was cold soaked overnight and pressed off, fermentation was conducted cold for three weeks. Just prior to completing fermentation the wine was racked off heavy yeast lees and left to settle on light lees. After 1 week on light lees the wine was blended, fined, stabilised and filtered prior to bottling. No oak products have been used in this wine.
