Moana Park Estate Chardonnay

2010 Estate Chardonnay

Winemaker:  Dan Barker

Vintage: 2010

Cellaring: This wine is ready for immediate consumption but will continue to develop and complex with bottle age for up to five years.

Tasting Notes: A vibrantly alive Chardonnay packed with zesty citrus and ripe stonefruit characters with subtle oak use.

Wine-
maker's Notes:
Estate Grown, Single Vineyard at Te Awanga, in our Doc's Block Mendoza clone. 2010 was a good vintage, a little warmer than average giving fantastic ripening conditions through a long cool autumn. Low cropping levels ensured optimum ripeness and flavour. The grapes were harvested and taken to the winery. The fruit was gently pressed. The juice cold settled overnight. After settling the juice was racked and innoculated. Fermentation was conducted cold to retain fruit flavours and lasted approximately 3 weeks. Just prior to completing fermentation the wine was racked off heavy yeast lees and left to settle on light lees. After 6 months on light lees the wine was blended, fined, stabilised and filtered prior to bottling..
